Observing season is here! Enjoy a night out under the stars with our free public observing nights. We work in cooperation with Island Lake State Recreation area to offer monthly observing nights at the park. We usually set up on the Saturday nearest to the 1st Quarter Moon, but this sometimes changes due to weather. Check our Facebook page to follow the event and news of any changes.

Follow the “Astronomy Event” signs posted in the park which will lead you to the Spring Mill Pond picnic & beach area.

These events are free and open to the public — but you will need a Michigan State Park “Recreation Passport” to enter the park. If you did not add this to your annual license plate sticker, it can be purchased as you enter the park.
